Course Description
The JP SimTiki Workshop on Instructional Methods - Facilitation Course is designed for international healthcare professionals and educators engaged in healthcare education. Participants should be aware of healthcare education methods and adult learning concepts. Participants will be introduced to basic concepts of simulation based education, and will focus on facilitation techniques. Facilitation is a complex set of skills in which the facilitator guides and supports the learner(s) to meet learning objectives. Facilitation includes techniques such as using appropriate cues, redirection, pause and reflect during a simulated patient encounter or series of encounters. The focus of this course is to provide participants with the latest methods of facilitation and bedside, hands on exercises to practice their skills in real time.
