About the Course

The SimTiki Visiting International Medical Student Program is a two week or four week program. Shorter or longer programs are available upon request.

The SimTiki Visiting International Medical Student (VIMS) Program is not a clinical elective, although observation of clinical settings will be planned. Opportunities for experiences including BLS certification, Emergency department observation, development of an academic portfolio, observation of problem based learning sessions, visits to research laboratories, simulation based clinical training program.

- This program is an English language program.

- Minimum 6 participants are required to conduct the program.

- Space is limited and registration is on a first come first served basis.

Prerequisites:

- International Medical Student within 2 years of graduation
- Interview or English Language Test Scores required

Program Objectives:

- Prepare medical students for clinical learning
- Experience US Medical School Style teaching and learning
- Develop skills to identify your own learning needs.
- Practice common clinical skills in simulation based training

Sample Agenda:

Simulation Course Observation, Clinical Clerkship Shadowing, Resident Education Conferences, Specialty Observation, Learning Portfolio – build and present, Medical English: Vocabulary Building

Registration Fee: 2 Week program $3800 US person.  4 Week program $5800 US. 

Course may be cancelled due to insufficient registration.
